The Azure Tempest & The Water Dragon.

Years ago a great man known as Binks Kongou made a name for himself on Aquatica. He started off as a young boy with a great love for music. He liked long walks on the beach, swimming and singing a great deal. He loved his planet of Aquatica and due to his great love decided to protect it from any harm by becoming the youngest Royal knight in Aquatica's history at the age of sixteen. A feat that his best friend Kuroiji was impressed with.
Various Pirate crews then began to appear throughout Aquatica.So many in fact that the knights had their work cut out for them as defenders of the planet. It was hard to keep peace as duels and brawls would break out everywhere. He knew however that the royal knights couldn't protect all of Aquatica by themselves as they were just five chao. Binks resigned from his position of royal knight and vanished for many years. None of his old comrades or even the water elder knew where he went.
Five years later, another crew began to slowly make a name for themselves. Their ship was a massive galleon called the Azure Tempest their sails had a jolly roger with a cartoonish smile with a violin and bow as it's crossbones with music notes around it.
The galleon had appeared before the royal court suddenly alerting the elder who called her knights into battle. Slowly the plank was lowered and a figure walked down to meet them while singing a song. Giving a jovial laugh the figure, who was the captain of the ship, gave a polite bow to the water elder and her knights.
"Jericho, Alexander, Macchus, Kyozu, Sieglinde and fairest lady of the ocean...it's very good to see you all again" when the captain removed his hat revealing his face the knights and water elder were stunned. Binks had returned as a pirate!
Being held at sword point Binks calmly explained that he was not here to harm them and that he even brought up that they were on the same side. Gathering not only talented musicians but Chao rejected by society for various reasons Binks had formed a crew calling themselves The Sonance Pirates.
"The knights can only do so much without leaving the water elder open to attack. I heard that in my absence some pirates had gotten close enough to were even elder Kaisui was forced into battle. Well, rest assured that is where I come in, I can go places all of you can't! I will aid in protecting my home as well! I am a man loved by the seas a warrior of the ocean!" he declared boldly.
Kaisui and her knights boarded the ship. Each chao aboard the crew immediately sunk to one knee in respect for her. Binks however gazed over his crew.
"I do not care what you have done, I could care less who you are and I care little about what you said and who you said it to! This is the Azure Tempest! The ship of the Sonance Pirates who's Music will spread through the ocean! If you wish to join my crew...then All I ask is that you love music!"
"We can be considered pirates all we want! People may consider us pirates all they want! They have their right to their opinion after all! The goal of this crew is clear! To the protection of Aquatica's oceans, villages and people! We are the naval defensive unit of this planet and will do a DAMN good job of it!" he roared causing his crew to cheer loudly.
Slowly but surely Binks began to aid the knights of Aquatica and the elder in ending piracy on Aquatica. Being a kind man and altruist Binks never killed any of the pirates he fought instead offering them a chance at redemption by joining his crew. At first many pirates took advantage of this by attempting to kill him and take over as captain of his crew.
However, most began to lose the urge to do so within a few weeks time. The ship felt like a home to them all, the captain was like a father, the crew like a family.
Ten years went by and soon only the sonance pirates remained. Most crews were either imprisoned or in an alliance with the sonance pirates. Kaisui never once thought of them as criminals due to the fact that they had saved the lives of her knights various times and had even saved her daughter Tsunami from kidnappers at one point.
Tsunami became elder within that ten year frame but never persecuted the sonance pirates as she recalled being a young girl when Binks had been a knight and knew how fondly her mother spoke of him thus cementing themselves as a second group of Aquatica's guardians.
Binks was forced to dock his ship at a village for almost an entire year due to the wear and tear of constant travelling. He met a woman in the village named Ariana and they fell in love.
He took her aboard the ship with him when she asked but would decline when the voyage out to sea seemed too dangerous. When those times came he would give her a special piece of eight that would give off music to comfort her while she waited for his return.
Times of peace came to Aquatica. Making use of his time for he didn't know how long it would last Binks proposed to Ariana and they were wed. The new water elder Tsunami herself proceeded over the ceremony.
Together they had two children, one daughter and then three years later one son. Both were contacted when the eggs hatched and made the trips to see their children at the Chao garden. Their daughter was an otter who had a talent for singing but she seemed rather shy. Then three years later when visiting their newborn son he had picked up the small violin in his arms but wasn't all that good at playing it.
He named his daughter Katherine and gave her the middle name Giselle named after his late mother and sister. He had wanted to name them both but Ariana argued that it was unfair and chose the name Unsui and the middle name Amadeus for their son.
They took the children with them to Aquatica and raised them together. Katherine was eight and Unsui was five when tragedy struck and Ariana was taken from them. She had contracted a virus from a tropical island they had been on while on vacation with the crew.
With her dying words she begged Binks to take care of their children and raise them well. Binks agreed to do so and relinquished his position of captain for a time. He handed down the mantle of captain to his first mate and stayed with his two children for three years. He taught Unsui and Katherine his excellent swordsmanship and taught them both water magic during the years he was with them.
He was forced to leave them in the care of a friend when several members of his crew had appeared before him and told him of the convict Poseidon. He had laid waste to several villages, destroyed many crews that were under an alliance with him and was giving their allies the knights of Aquatica a run for their money.
Unwilling to let the slaughters on Aquatica continue Binks rejoined his crew and once again became captain. He promised his children that he would return one day and urged them to use their skills and abilities to do something great with their lives. He vanished for many years but his children kept hope that he would return.
Ten years later, Unsui had joined the knights of Aquatica and became a member of the elite royal guard who's job was to guard the elder. Unsui and Tsunami fell in love over the course of two years but there happiness was cut short as Poseidon appeared before them with the intent of killing Tsunami. After a fierce battle all the royal guards but Unsui were killed. He was cast aside in a riptide, the ocean current dragged him off into the sea.
The convict was forced to retreat and Unsui's body was never found by Tsunami. It was however found by Binks, who upon seeing his son in a near death state wept bitterly and wore a mask to keep his face hidden from the shame he felt. He had broken the promise to his wife and his children! He had no right to face them!
Unsui having lost his memories, stayed aboard the Azure Tempest quickly adapting to the pirate life. Rising through the ranks he became the first mate.Throughout that time Unsui felt as if he was at home and had the biggest case of deja vu but never knew why.
Three years after, Poseidon rose once again, this time aiming to assimilate the crew and take their abilities. In the ensuing battle Siegfried awakened his final form and dealt a lethal blow to the convict. However, not only was the ship damaged and several crewmmates slain...the captain was dying from his wounds.
There, at last, in the arms of his son, Binks unmasked and revealed to Siegfried who he was and why he had done what he did. Siegfried held no anger towards him and tearfully admitted that his only regret was that they had such a small amount of time together. With his last breath he named Siegfried the new captain.
The water elder held a private funeral for him which the entire crew attended. His grave stands next to his wife's atop of a cliff of his favorite island on Aquatica.
With a new captain in tow the Sonance pirates of the Azure Tempest set off to the sea once more. They would have many adventures, share many stories and fight many battles...the captain eventually achieving a great position....but this is not that story...our story begins...two years later...
The soft tune of a violin could be heard playing. On Aquatica there was an island that had a large angled cliff. Atop the cliff were two graves where a silver haired Lion chao could be seen. He had very long silver hair down to his waist with locks in the front down to his shoulders. He had a dark blue coat with a matching blut hat that had a feather on top to match it and dark boots and pants.
The male stared at the two graves before him with a small smile recalling what had made him who he was. He pulled out his violin named Amadeus and began to play a soft melody.
'Father...Mother...I hope that you two are watching over me and the crew' he thought warmly. He stared out into the ocean before closing his eyes 'It is times like this that one must rest before the next adventure' he thought with a smile 'Yohohohoho...' finishing his song the violin vanished and he gave a bow. The silver haired lion made his way to the edge of the cliff and gazed at the Azure Tempest which was docked on the beach below and the many pirates within the crew lounging around enjoying the feel of land.
Captain Of The Sonance Pirates: Siegfried "Amadeus" Kongou
"Cap'n!" a voice suddenly called out giving the owner of the voice his immediate attention. A cloud of smoke that had flown up to him suddenly formed into a chao body.
"Andre, what's the matter?" Siegfried asked the Buffalo.
Salvager & "Firefighter" of the Sonance Pirates: Andre "Smoking Bull" Hunter
"Kishi's detected a sea monster attack" Andre said, chewing some gum.
He immediately jumped down from the cliff "Everyone to the ship!" he commanded while he was falling. With a flick of his hands a water dragon formed from the nearby ocean and caught him "Kishigure says there's been an attack!" he said, riding the dragon to the ship.
"Aye Captain!" the crew said in unison, quickly gathering up their things and bolting back to the ship.
In the water by the ship a female wearing the traditional samurai garb with a longsword sheathed on her side glared at the ocean. She was a rather irritated looking cheetah chao.
"Damn sea demons..." she muttered darkly.
Swordsman/Blademaster of the Sonance Pirates: Kishigure Roen "The Cutting Rain"
"Kishigure, is what you feel certain?" a gruff voice asked. The voice in question belonged to a bear chao that had a white moustache, wore a black headband and a grey coat and pants.
First Mate of the Sonance Pirates: Michael Newgate "The Tremor"
"Yes, I've never been wrong on these things before, besides...Kiribachi knows when they're near" she said, placing her hand on her sword sheath which was glowing a dark green color. She made her way back to the ship and immediately made her way to the bow.
"You'll guide?" a voice asked causing Kishigure to nod wordlessly. The voice belonged to a falcon chao who flew up to the crows nest and gazed at the ocean from his altitude "Hmmm...I see it! It's rather close by, seems that a ship traveled into the red belt" the Chao said.
Look-Out of the Sonance Pirates: Jacob "Eagle-Eye" Alfray
"The red belt? I should'a known! That place is littered with the damn monsters!" a loud voice boomed. A silverback gorilla chao made his way to the helm "What kinda fool guides their ship through them stupidly dangerous waters?"
Helmsman of the Sonance Pirates: Anton Sobek "The Uproar"
"Perhaps someone with an incompetent crew?" a voice asked from his shadow.
"Ah...heh heh heh...right doc..." the gorilla said nervously.
"The fact is we must get to their ship and hope there are some survivors" the voice said "It will take sometime to get our equipment ready due to Hugo and some of the others making a supply trip. I will inform the captain"
"You got it doc" Anton said as the voice went silent. He seemed alot less tense now that a voice wasn't speaking to him out of his own shadow.
A Golden Lion Tamarin Chao laughed enthusiastically as he unwrapped the sails "Alright! Finally something to do!" he cheered before flipping and landing on the mast.
Shipwright Of The Sonance Pirates: Portgas "The Mechanic" Takahashi
"Set Sail!" Siegfried commanded.
On command the ship began to sail away from the beach and towards the center of the attack.
"Captain as you are aware due to Hugo and some of the others leaving our equipment may take some time to get ready"
Siegfried wasn't phased by the voice that spoke from the shadows "I'm aware, I have faith in your abilities Venedict, do what you can with what you have it'll be a few days until they return"
"Understood sir"
As they approached the area Kishigure's blade was glowing a more pronounced green "Be on alert" she commanded. While the crew was keeping an eye out for a sea monster Siegfried saw the ship. It was a medium sized ship and from what he could tell it seemed to be a merchant ship.

The Pelagios That was the name of the ship that now lay in shambled floating pieces of wood. It was a new ship artfully crafted on her maiden voyage. The Voyage was more of a mission set by the benefactor who had her created for one reason. To find the girls father out at sea.
When she was younger just a chaoling really Mizuko found out she had a gift, a simple gift really, water would change into anything she wanted it to. She would just touch water and if she thought about changing it even a passing thought it would. Water would turn into soda, juice, and tea or if she was angry sour milk or even acid. It was a gift that got her into lots of trouble in school when her control was shoddy at best. She couldn’t get a handle on her power it wasn’t really magic cause magic had more control. Hers was more of a science an equivalent exchange she couldn’t change water into anything without losing the water she initially started with.
Mizuko had many characteristics that made her unusual the very first being that she was a water dragon. There aren’t many reptile chao around but she got by. When she was 4 years old her mother finally came to pick her up from chao Kindergarten. Her mother was very stern and was an extreme over achiever. After she found out about her daughter’s gift she pushed her to advance into the field of her choosing Chemistry. Mizuko being just a child wanted to earn her mothers praise and did whatever she could to get even the smallest of a smile. When her mother thought her ready she set her up for a presentation. Mizuko being only 6 at the time was quiet shy and she understood the material but from night upon night upon night of reading and studying her world was very much a blur and she was only able to differentiate items by color and shape. Squinting as she mixed the items in front of her and some how some way everything blew sky high. Mizuko took out the auditorium and was knocked out for a month.
Mizuko met her teacher when she woke up. While she didn’t understand why he was there at first she later got accustomed to his presence. Her mother told her that this chao would be her teacher and she was very sorry for pushing her too hard. She decided to hire him as Mizuko’s tutor and he would help her excel with her talent but also make it fun for her and maybe soon she will find a field she would enjoy. Mizuko at first was quiet confused but by the time she was released from the hospital she understood that her mother loved her and just wanted what was best for her. Sometimes parents make mistakes when they are blinded by the hope for better things for their children.
Her teacher soon took her under his wing and taught her all that he knew. He was the one who noticed that her eyesight was bad and that the explosion that came from her first presentation was because she couldn’t see what was in front of her.
Her mother later fell quiet enamored for the Chao who helped teach her daughter and he too fell for her. So his visits became longer and longer till he soon just fell into place in their household. It was like there was a piece missing in their family that was just filled by her teacher. He understood her mother’s questions and concerns and made her Mizuko happy. It wasn’t long till they were wed and Mizuko was the happiest child on their side of Aquatica.
As Mizuko grew older he made her his apprentice and soon found other talents that she enjoyed. She watched her eyes light up when she would cook in the kitchen and watched as she combined all his teachings from chemistry and applied it to food. Soon after he started to challenge her skills in the kitchen and they started to create the strangest of meals. It was when she became 18 when he left on a journey and never came home.
Her mother later became sick with worry over the loss of her husband. She pushed Mizuko to continue with her studies and get a job and not to stay home worrying about her so she decided to continue through the field of chemistry to bring home the funds to take car of her mother. It didn’t matter much because not even 2 years later she passed on from illness but Mizuko was sure it was more of a loss for a will to live.
At the age of 20 Mizuko had lost her parents and just tried to continue to live day to day not at all sure she belived her father was truly gone. She heard the news that her father may still be alive at sea and Mizuko decided to quit her job. She was once the most advanced in her field not because of her passion for what she did but because she was just good at it. She learned from the best. The best was a Chao who was her teacher and later her father.
Now she was floating on a piece of driftwood. Just hanging on for dear life her glasses cracked and her forehead cut. The world was a fog mess as she clung to the wood to keep alive. Almost the entire crew went down with the ship those who didn't were probably eaten by the monster who took out the ship. One by one all she heard were screams and one by one each was silenced. She watched as a large shape head her way. She was tired and felt defeated. Her vision just dimmed and she laid her head on the wood as she lost consciousness.
When she was younger just a chaoling really Mizuko found out she had a gift, a simple gift really, water would change into anything she wanted it to. She would just touch water and if she thought about changing it even a passing thought it would. Water would turn into soda, juice, and tea or if she was angry sour milk or even acid. It was a gift that got her into lots of trouble in school when her control was shoddy at best. She couldn’t get a handle on her power it wasn’t really magic cause magic had more control. Hers was more of a science an equivalent exchange she couldn’t change water into anything without losing the water she initially started with.
Mizuko had many characteristics that made her unusual the very first being that she was a water dragon. There aren’t many reptile chao around but she got by. When she was 4 years old her mother finally came to pick her up from chao Kindergarten. Her mother was very stern and was an extreme over achiever. After she found out about her daughter’s gift she pushed her to advance into the field of her choosing Chemistry. Mizuko being just a child wanted to earn her mothers praise and did whatever she could to get even the smallest of a smile. When her mother thought her ready she set her up for a presentation. Mizuko being only 6 at the time was quiet shy and she understood the material but from night upon night upon night of reading and studying her world was very much a blur and she was only able to differentiate items by color and shape. Squinting as she mixed the items in front of her and some how some way everything blew sky high. Mizuko took out the auditorium and was knocked out for a month.
Mizuko met her teacher when she woke up. While she didn’t understand why he was there at first she later got accustomed to his presence. Her mother told her that this chao would be her teacher and she was very sorry for pushing her too hard. She decided to hire him as Mizuko’s tutor and he would help her excel with her talent but also make it fun for her and maybe soon she will find a field she would enjoy. Mizuko at first was quiet confused but by the time she was released from the hospital she understood that her mother loved her and just wanted what was best for her. Sometimes parents make mistakes when they are blinded by the hope for better things for their children.
Her teacher soon took her under his wing and taught her all that he knew. He was the one who noticed that her eyesight was bad and that the explosion that came from her first presentation was because she couldn’t see what was in front of her.

Siegfried's eyes cast in shadow seeing the remains of the ship. He grit his teeth angrily when suddenly his ears twitched. It was faint but there was no mistaking the melody of life. Acting quick the captain dived off the ship and swam to the origin of the melody. Just as Mizuko was about to slide off the wood and into the ocean Siegfried grabbed her hand.
"Barely alive, your body seems like it was broken by a powerful strike...a feeling I know all too well" he said to the unconscious water dragon.
He picked the female up and actually lifted himself to the waters surface. He carried her bridal style while he walked across the water as if it was solid ground.
His ears twitched again but before he could register the new melody he heard a collective group of voices yell out for him. Seeing the shadow now looming over him he turned around and stared up at a massive azure serpent that seemed to have a white lower demonic jaw with yellow eyes and an extra pair of red eyes above it.
Siegfried's eyes widened "The Daedelus?" he muttered. The serpent glowered at him and opened it's mouth. A figure could suddenly be seen jumping off of Siegfried's ship running swiftly across the water. Just as the serpent began to charge up a powerful torrent of water the figure ran past Siegfried and jumped into the air.
"Harusame" Kishigure growled darkly as she unsheathed her sword and sliced at the serpent. Her attack managed to catch it in the gap between it's two upper and lower pair of eyes causing it to roar in agony. It turned its attention to the swordsman and went after her.
Leaving Kishigure to deal with the serpent Siegfried continued his trek back to the tempest 'Why is the Daedelus here of all places?' he thought. Making it to the ship he suddenly began to tremble terribly.
Images began to appear before him. A large wedding day. A beautiful bride approaching him at the altar. Bells chiming and people cheering. A large serpent rising through the ocean: The Daedelus! A figure could be seen on the forehead of the serpent adjusting his white glasses which reflected the white light of the sun.
"I shall take her from here captain" a cloaked figure said appearing before him.
Doctor of the Sonance Pirates: Venedict "The Dark Healer" Volkoff
"Yes, alright" Siegfried said handing the turtle over to him "Where is-"
"He woke me but Kumadori started annoying him so he began to lecture him" Venedict said "If you excuse me" as Venedict grabbed Mizuko and vanished with her through a portal of darkness Siegfried sighed.
Siegfried stiffened feeling a wet hand on his shoulder. Out of instinct he grabbed the hand and flipped the person over his shoulder. Kishigure was prepared for this however and she landed on her feet just a few feet in front of him. She had some blood on her kimono but looked quite annoyed "It escaped!" she growled irritated.
"What?" Siegfried asked "I saw you cleave into it's face!"
"It moved away at the last second, we battled but this serpent is clever, it escaped at the first chance" she said, her eyes casting in darkness.
She sat before Siegfried "I-I've...never failed to kill a sea serpent before..." she said, she pulled a small knife from under her kimono "I shall commit Seppuku to right this wrong and regain my-"
"NO!" Siegfried yelled grabbing her wrists "Don't!" he said to her.
While Siegfried and the rest of the crew were trying to convince Kishigure not to commit Seppuku, Newgate kept his eyes on Siegfried 'Memories of the past...can be quite painful' he thought.
Several minutes later a cloud of smoke appeared before Siegfried as he gazed on from the bow of the ship "I launched a signal flare from the destroyed ship" Andrew said, his body forming from smoke "The crew is salvaging what they can from the wreck, there was hardly much saving, but we need this cleaned up" he said to the captain who nodded.
"We also...found one more survivor" Andre said grimly.
"Bring them aboard, Venedict will treat them both" Siegfried said. Andre gave a nod and vanished from view. Newgate, who was close by made his way to Siegfried "Will you be alright?" he asked.
"I...will be fine" Siegfried said "Some scars are...harder to heal then others unfortunately" the male said.
The tempest made their way away from the remains of the Pelagios. Unaware of two pairs of eyes watching them intently from the ocean before they vanished.
-The Medic Bay-
Venedict worked quickly and diligently. Using his dark scan ability Venedict was able to give Mizuko an X-ray "Dislocated right shoulder, broken right clavicle, sternum has been impacted by something heavy breaking vertebrosternal ribs one, three, five and seven, so breathing will be a painful problem" he muttered to himself. As he talked the shadows around them began to connect the water dragon to various machines that kept tabs on her heart, pulse, breathing and overall condition. Her glasses were removed and the gash across her head was sealed with dark needles but not before being sterilized.
"The spinal column...oh dear she won't be walking for a while" Venedict said "Looks like I have my work cut out for me" he said. The other survivor had been brought in as well and he was placed on a bed next to Mizuko's.
He had several fractures throughout his body as well. He couldn't tell much from his outfit as it was soaked in blood but Venedict guessed he was a worker aboard the decimated ship. His dark scan picked up on faint magical energy radiating from the male. He also noticed a small box clutched in the male's hands, holding it tightly to his chest.

'.......floating......' Thats was the thought in Dragon’s head as she tried to blink away the misty haze in front of her eyes '.... it feels like I'm floating.....' Her world was in a large blur as she looked around the dimmly lit room not being able to distinguish where she was. She couldn't tell anything besides the fact she was laying in what she would assume was a bed. A bed in a large endless scape of shadow. As she pushed herself up on her week arms she looked at a shape in front of her which looked like one dark shadow that walked closer.
"Oh no …where am I? Did I Die!? Your Death aren't you!? You’re here to take me away! I'm Dead! Oh please… please don't tell me I'm dead! I don't want to Die! I haven't found my Father yet! I want....no I need to find him! So please don't take me away to the afterlife! I'll do anything!" she cried out panicking as she pleaded to the dark figure she could only assume was death come to take her away from where ever she was. She must have drowned with the ship and that’s why she felt like she was floating and couldn't move.
The figure walked up closer and Mizuko closed her mouth in fear. She shook as she tried mentally preparing herself for death to take her away or cut her down; what ever it was that death did to the souls of Chao when it was there time to pass.
Suddenly, the incarnation of death did something she was not expecting: it poked her on the forehead.
"It would be nice if most people wouldn't assume such a thing at first appearance" a calm voice said. The hood was pulled back revealing a goat chao with a small white beard and spectacle glasses "You are quite lucky to be alive young one, but I must ask you to calm yourself"
Mizuko could only stare dumbfounded as the goat continued to talk "My name is Venedict, I am the head doctor of my crew, we are currently in the medic bay" he said in a calm tone "What is your name?" he asked, using his dark powers to scan her body for further analysis.
Mizuko's fear drained away when she saw the colors of the shape changed in front of her . As it got closer the figure became less menacing. "...Mizuko.
Mizuko H Yagami." she said softly as she squinted trying to get a clearer picture of the chao in front of her seeing that wasn't working well she widened her eyes and that went on for a few seconds before she shut her eyes completely and just laid back.
"....The crew....The ship... everything is gone....now how am I going to find my father?....." she whimpered as her wings attempted to extend but caused her a great deal of pain.

At this Mizuko's eyes widened "W-Wait, there was...a survivor aside from myself?"
"Yes, he's in there" Venedict said, pointing over to the curtains that surrounded a bed next to hers "Oddly enough, no fractures on his body but he is knocked out for some odd reason. I detect faint magical residue but I can't quite-"
Siegfried entered the room and immediately made his way over to the water dragon interrupting Venedict "My name is Siegfried Amadeus Kongou, captain of the Sonance pirates and rightful owner of the Azure tempest" he said politely, introducing himself to the female dragon
"My name is Mizuko, Misuko H Yagami and I-"
"I must ask...what possessed you to steer your ship into the red belt?" Siegfried asked sternly "Those waters have no wind current and are the nesting grounds for various sea serpents"
Venedict began using his dark magic to slowly set her vertebrae back into place as Siegfried questioned her.
"She says she paid for an expedition to look for her missing father" Venedict revealed. His eyes were gazing at her body, almost as if he could see through her skin and see the anatomy beneath...which seemed to be the case. His dark magic numbed her nerves so there wouldn't be any pain, therefore no abrupt movements while he worked on putting her back together.
"Young lady who exactly was your father?" Siegfried asked, his stern tone softening "Was he a sailor?"

Mizuko looked down and saw her belt was missing from her person unable to see from the loss of her glasses she squinted as she looked to Siegfried.
"My father...was a medic and a scientist, a brilliant Chemist actually" she looked down at her blurry hands trying to bring them into focus.
"I…I was following a map my father had….left in his possessions. I had it in my belt… " She said trying to see if it was taken off and moved somewhere else but could only make out shapes "I was following the route he was taking when the ship he was on was destroyed. The map showed a clear course," she explained trying to ignore the numb feeling in her back. “The red belt was supposed to be south of the course we were on.” She said not understanding what had happened her voice becoming higher and louder in her distress

"I could really go for a cup'a tea right now" a voice said alarming them all. With one wave of Venedict's hand the curtain surrounding the bed moved aside revealing the lone survivor holding a box in his right hand. He seemed to be a young chao with a large bushy tail and pointy ears. His brown eyes revealed his feline nature.
"Dieci?" Mizuko asked "Is that you?"
"Oh! Mizuko! Glad to see you're..." he noticed her current state and winced "...mostly...in...one piece?" he questioned.
"Who are you?" Siegfried asked.
"Oh, I'm Dieci" the male said cheerfully "Nice to meet you all...say could I get a cup of tea...I mean, if that's alright...um..." he said.
"Mizuko, was he part of the crew?" Venecict asked.
"Well no, he stowed away on Captain Kassius' ship, by the time we found him we were already out far away from land" Mizuko said.
"A stowaway?" Siegfried asked.
"I wanted to be part of the expedition" Dieci reasoned "Go out into the ocean on an adventure of a lifetime, looking high and low for a young ladies missing father. Who knows were he could be? Perhaps the sirens took him? Or maybe he was taken by pirates, assumed control of the crew and lives on in shame? Maybe he was taken by aliens? The possibilities are endless!" he said happily.
"Young man..."
"Dieci"
"...Right, Dieci, you do realize that the ship you stowed away on and it's crew are dead, correct?" Siegfried asked in bewilderment. How could someone be so carefree?
"The ship's gone!? Oh blimey...I rather liked that boat, had a nice feeling to it" he murmured opening the box he clutched in his hands.
"How can you be so inconsiderate!?" Siegfried snapped, "Various chao are dead, were killed and devoured yet you-"
"But they're not dead" Dieci revealed now shuffling some cards he pulled out revealing it to have been a deck box.
"What?" Siegfried, Venedict and Mizuko said at once.
"Yeah, not dead, not kaput, still living" the chao revealed as he shuffled his cards.
"How...How can you be so sure?" Siegfried asked.
Dieci had a small twinkle in his eyes and showed Siegfried a card "Release"
In a brief flash of light a Wolf dressed in a white outfit complete with multiple ribbons and a hat appeared before them. He looked quite confused "Where..."
"C-C-C-Captain...Kassius?" Mizuko asked.
"Dieci?" Mizuko asked "Is that you?"
"Oh! Mizuko! Glad to see you're..." he noticed her current state and winced "...mostly...in...one piece?" he questioned.
"Who are you?" Siegfried asked.
"Oh, I'm Dieci" the male said cheerfully "Nice to meet you all...say could I get a cup of tea...I mean, if that's alright...um..." he said.
"Mizuko, was he part of the crew?" Venecict asked.
"Well no, he stowed away on Captain Kassius' ship, by the time we found him we were already out far away from land" Mizuko said.
"A stowaway?" Siegfried asked.
"I wanted to be part of the expedition" Dieci reasoned "Go out into the ocean on an adventure of a lifetime, looking high and low for a young ladies missing father. Who knows were he could be? Perhaps the sirens took him? Or maybe he was taken by pirates, assumed control of the crew and lives on in shame? Maybe he was taken by aliens? The possibilities are endless!" he said happily.
"Young man..."
"Dieci"
"...Right, Dieci, you do realize that the ship you stowed away on and it's crew are dead, correct?" Siegfried asked in bewilderment. How could someone be so carefree?
"The ship's gone!? Oh blimey...I rather liked that boat, had a nice feeling to it" he murmured opening the box he clutched in his hands.
"How can you be so inconsiderate!?" Siegfried snapped, "Various chao are dead, were killed and devoured yet you-"
"But they're not dead" Dieci revealed now shuffling some cards he pulled out revealing it to have been a deck box.
"What?" Siegfried, Venedict and Mizuko said at once.
"Yeah, not dead, not kaput, still living" the chao revealed as he shuffled his cards.
"How...How can you be so sure?" Siegfried asked.

Mizuko looked at the figure of the captain before her and all she could see was herself on the ship.
Mizuko was sitting in her small office. Outside she heard the crashing of the waves as she glared over the old map that charted the course her father took. Under it she had the map for the year. Flipping between the two she saw a red line extend from the southern isle of Okeanos, to the northern land of Tethys the line expanded 3,600 miles long and 40 miles wide and was apparently the ships course was heading right for it. On her fathers map on the other hand the red line was 300 miles north of their course and wrapped around Tethys to the far western land mass of Nethuns just 500 miles north of her home isle where she got her crew together.
Captain Kassius was due to burst in her office any moment like he did every day for the past few weeks. Growling in frustration she threw down her glasses. She had poured over the maps for weeks trying to understand why they were different but only came up with the red belt. It made no sense to her why the creatures would choose new mating grounds each year while all other creatures of the seas would stay predictable in their mating patterns. Food sources weren't the answer because on her fathers map they followed a whale like creatures path while on this year’s they were in shark territory along with sea turtle and whale breeding grounds. As if sensing her ire Kassius chose that moment to bang at her door. Then burst in not waiting for a welcome.
"Listen here you vacuous Wyvrn! We are heading right for the red belt! I can feel it in my bones that If we continue on out course we are going to end up right in the center of the Leviathans new mating grounds! We will all perish!" He yelled his eyes full of anger.
"Kas..." Mizuko started not wanting to fight with the Chao for another day in a row
"Captain!" Kassius growled out
"Captain Kassius.. The map I have is..." she started to say pinching the bridge between her eyes. Kassius having heard this argument before growled as he started walking forward. He then slammed his hands on the desk. The bang made Mizuko look at him as some of her papers flew to the left or right of her desk onto the floor.
"Several years old! It's out dated! I do not want the lives of my c...." Kassius was cut off of his rant by a blast that rocked the ship throwing him over the desk and into Mizuko. Mizuko's chair flipped back and the two were sprawled out on the ground. They Groaned in pain and shock as the ship rocked in the ocean like a child toy in a tub. As the boat started to settle they turned to hear the sound of the crew yelling orders.
Kassius's eyes widened as he picked himself up and looked at Mizuko's doorway. The crew rushed by yelling and shouting when suddenly an ear-piercing screech was heard.
"What in the name of Aquatica was that?" Mizuko asked in fear
"A leviathan." Kassius said as he bolted out the door. "Crew! Battle stations! Turn this ship around and get us out of here!" The captain yelled. He wanted them out of the area as quick as possible when that was done then he would kill the Dragon in charge of this expedition.
Mizuko grabbed her glasses off the floor and put them on and rolled up her fathers map putting it in her belt. She then rushed for the door to help out. What she saw made her shake in fear. Raised above the ship was a large serpent like creature eyeing the crew in hunger water still fell of its skin as it started down at them. The captain stood at the wheel as he furiously turned it to make the ship head for a retreat the crew ran furiously like scattering ants running for the cannons to try and fire at the serpent. It was still for no more then a minute before it let out another screech then sent its body down onto the ship and Mizuko was blasted back hitting the wall of the captain’s cabin. Kassius sat next to her for a moment dazed before turning to look at her "You killed us all." he stated before rushing back to steer the ship in hopes they would escape.
Mizuko just watched at the ships crew would be picked off one by one as the leviathan attacked the ship. Like a child in a tub it slammed the ship left and right and down into the water. The crew would fall over board as the wood of the ship cracked and flew through the air. The captain held onto the wheel so he wouldn't fly about and Mizuko gripped on the railing when suddenly it stopped. The serpent slipped into the water and didn't rise again. What was left of the crew fell silent as the stood still waiting. They turned to look at the captain who watched the ocean as he continued to turn the ship around. He straightened the ship and looked at his crew who while a little battered weren't too damaged they did suffer quite a few losses but they survived the battle.
"Are we safe?" Mizuko asked shakingly; a cut extended over her right eye.
"No....." Kassius said as he looked straight ahead seeing the leviathan rise out of the water and began to charge up a powerful torrent of water. They where heading straight for the beast and its attack, there was no escape. There was a cry of 'Abandon ship' and half of the crew started to dive into the water.
Kassius looked at the monster in defeat as he held the wheel in death grip Mizuko could only watch in fear as the attack shot for them and blasted the ship to pieces her back hit the wall again and her body went through it then out the Captains window and into the water below. Her body twisted and turned in the water as she tried to find her way up for air. When she found which way was up she swum up only to see the creature slamming into body through what was left of the ship and debris crashed into her body below. When the horror ended her body lay broken, her glasses shattered, and she held onto a piece of wood. All she could hear were the sounds of screams being picked off one by one.
Kassius looked shocked but no worse for wear. He was wet and had a few bumps but he was not dead. The old wolf looked left and right in shock before his eyes settled on Mizuko and shock melted into something else.

"You...you stupid woman!" He snarled out and made to rush her only to stopped by Siegfried who held his sword at the wolves throat "Any attempt on anyone within this room Captain, will result in the end of your life" Siegfried gazed at the wolf sternly "May I suggest that you think very carefully about your next action"
"How can you defend her!?" the wolf snarled "My crew, my ship all gone because-"
"Um actually I-"
"-Of her! Because of this foul wretched-"
"Excuse me I-"
"-Woman everything I had ever had in my life is-
"SILENCE!" Dieci yelled out with a commanding voice "Finger to lips, PLEASE" he said, raising an index finger to his own lips. Kassius and the rest found themselves following his command.
"As I was trying to say your captainship...your crew is very much alive" Dieci revealed holding out several cards that had various chao within them.
-On deck-
"Release" Dieci called out and several flashes of light later revealed multiple chao of differing species and genders looking around in confusion.
"Portal cards, never leave home without em" Dieci said happily.
"Incredible, all seventy members of my crew..." Kassius said looking close to tears.
"Oh, come now it's only simple portal magic, nothing too complicated" Dieci said patting Kassius on the shoulder.
Kassius gave a howl and immediately they grouped up into several collums and rows at attention.
"SIR YES SIR!" they cried out in unison.
"Listen up! Not more than one hour ago our ship The Pelagios was destroyed! Thankfully...by some strange...luck...our stowaway...ended up saving each and everyone of us" he revealed.
Dieci, who was sipping a cup of tea waved jovially at the gathered men. He wore a brown trenchcoat which covered a blue shirt, slacks and loafers. Mizuko was in a wheelchair next to him looking at the floor.
"At ease men" Kassius commanded and he turned to Siegfried. The two began to discuss something.
"Nervous?" Dieci asked Mizuko who nodded silently. What was to become of her? Was Siegfried going to allow Kassius to kill her? Was she going to walk the plank? What was her fate?
The wolf and the lion broke away from one another and he faced his crew "The captain has informed me that when we get to land, his shipwright will oversee the construction of a new Pelagios for us to govern" the wolf revealed causing much rejoicing from his men.
He turned to Mizuko "...as for you..." he glowered causing the water dragon to whimper.
"You will finance the construction" he said causing Mizuko to look at him in shock.
"I...what?"
"Are you deaf!? I said-"
"I heard what you said but...that's it...I mean..."
"My crew is alive but we are without a ship to sail. I am...was...absolutely livid...but the fact that my men...my crew...the fact that they draw breath still..." he bit his lips "A ship can be replaced Ms.Yagami...but the crew that are the very life force of it cannot" he said.
"Basically, he was all for ripping your head off before, because he thought he lost everything before but because he hasn't, he won't" Dieci said plainly as he sipped his tea "Blimey! I must say! This a bloody damn good cup'a tea!" he chirped.

Mizuko looked at the captain and nodded tears in her eyes “Y..y..yes sir full funding… whatever you need its yours.” She said in relief she was just happy as Kassius was that the crew was alive.
When Kassius turned away she wept tears of joy for the lives of the crew. Hamano looked at the shadowy figure of captain Kassius . she knew if the crew had perished it would have been all her fault. Her eyes seemed to dull in at the thought of it. She would have been responsible for lives lost due to her quest to find a Chao probably dead for years now.But she didn't want to give up on her hope.
Dieci looked over at her a raised a brow in question to her mood. “ay whats with the tears?”
"I'm sorry." she said looking in the direction of the voice. "It just… It would have been my fault you know… if they all died it would have been entirely my fault. Just cause I can’t belive that my father may in fact be dead. I just…I don’t want to give up hope that he’s out there but I just may have to call it quits." she said her emotions drained. Mizuko wanted nothing more than to sink into her chair and wallow in her misery. "There is nothing more I can do.... I want to be able to make it up to Captain Kassius... If put the rest of my savings into this...I may be able to pay to get him a new ship and a bit extra for damage this disaster caused … I wanted to find my father if not then to find closure but I am not going to put Kassius through that again." she said looking up to Dieci. "I will just have to go home when I can. I guess there are just some situations you need to just give up." she said sadly. She turned her eyes towards the ceiling and took a deep breath and sighed.
"I will probably spend the rest of my life never knowing what happened to my father." she said in defeat closing her eyes and leaning her head back.

"No" Dieci said plainly.

"No" he said again and walked up to her before placing his hands on her shoulders "You are NOT giving up, you understand me?" he asked "You don’t just give up like you're doing now You don’t just let things happen. You make a stand! You say no! You have the guts to do what’s right, even when everyone else just runs away” he said to her firmly.
"You kept me company on Kassius' ship and told me all about your dad, he seems like a fine bloke and for me to hear you say that you're just gonna give up...that's heartbreaking really" he revealed, his ears drooping.
"All this is, is a setback, nothing more. I was there and prevented a tragedy. Had it happened I could understand but it didn't...they're alive and so are you"
"Why are you always so...optimistic?" she asked.
Dieci smiled "I am and always will be the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams"
Siegfried watched the two interact and smiled. Her melody which was dark, low and depressed was now light, loud and jovial once more. While he wanted to talk to Mizuko his first priority was to attend to Kassius. For the time being he would leave her to heal. She seemed to be in good hands anyway.

"Well chao of Hopes and Dreams what will you do now? You stow-awayed on the ship and it seems I'm out of commission for a while so there will be no scouring the oceans for my father." she said with a smile as she turned her head and her eyes met Venedict and she saw a little shadow whisp floating near him. Venedict was examining the crew of the Pelagios to see that they were all healthy and no worse for wear.
Mizuko sighed as she turned her eyes back to Dieci "You are right you know. You Optomistic slightly Sassy Chao. How does one become as wise as you?" she said as she yawned from exhaustion and pulled her shoulders back to stretch only to gasp in pain. Whimpering she saw Dieci gain a look of concern which drew the Shadow doctor their way.
She saw the shadow whisp come close and examine her face making small chirp like sounds as The Doctor looked her over "That appears to be enough excitement for one day." he stated as he took her chair and lead her back to the medic bay to put her to bed.

Dieci gazed at her retreating form wordlessly. He reached into his coat and pulled out a box of cards. He shuffled the deck a bit and drew the top card which revealed a large wheel with various creatures on it.
'The wheel of fortune card' he thought softly and smiled. He placed the card back and shuffled the deck again before drawing the top card. It revealed a cloaked figure wielding a scythe 'The Death Card' he thought grimly 'Always the same with me'
He placed the cards into their box and gave a soft sigh.
'How does one become as wise as you?'
'By making mistakes and learning from them' he thought to himself and closed his eyes.
'Live on Dieci...'
The male walked to the bow of the ship and placed his tea cup on the wooden railing while staring off into the ocean.
-The medic bay-
Venedict brought Mizuko down to the clinic and lifted her onto her bed. She was aware of some light scracthing noises and turned to the right where she saw someone walking down to the medic bay. She saw the silver haired captain enter the room but he seemed to be furiously writting something down on a notebook as he walked. He then stood next to her bed in silence mumbling a few things under his breath.
Mizuko looked at Venedict oddly but the ram didn't seem phazed.
"Don't mind Siegfried" Dr. Beckham said "Right now...he's in another world altogether" the doctor said.
The silver haired lion wrote at lightning speed like a man possessed. His ears picking up a collection of sounds that no others could hear. A collection of sounds which connected to his very heart. A collection of sounds which defined his existence. A collection of sounds which at this moment opened his senses to a world beyond. A collection of sounds...known as music.
It was unknown why or how Siegfried had this ability. Perhaps it was a trait passed on from his father the late captain Binks. Maybe the years of being exposed to music while aboard the Azure tempest awakened a talent. It could even be the memories of singing with his sister Katherine, the days he played the violin with his father and later the concerts he had with the crew that gave him an unfathomable love for music. A love so strong and powerful that it (in theory) allowed him to hear special sound waves within the air allowing the lion to determine a person's true mood despite their facade, allowing him to hear music from the actions of others which in turned inspired him.
"Yohohohoho...." the lion laughed suddenly "I do so apologize...when seeing tender moments such as what has just taken place I can't help but become inspired to write a new song" he said . The notebook and quill vanished from view. The lion turned his chocolate brown gaze to Mizuko and gave a polite bow "My name is Siegfried Amadeus Kongou, captain of the Sonance pirates and rightful owner of the Azure tempest" he said politely "I never got a chance to introduce myself to you properly due to the situation with Captain Kassius"
"My name is Mizuko Hamano Yagami" the water dragon revealed as her bed adjusted allowing her into a sitting position.
"It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance Ms. Yagami" he said giving another bow.
"Please no, Mizuko is fine Captain" she said sheepishly.
"Very well Mizuko, but No calling me "captain" as you are a guest on my ship, Siegfried is fine" he said.
Mizuko smiled "Fair enough...so what happens now?"
"Well, the captain Kassius and his men will be dropped off at Galley-Ley, the island that births ships, to pick out their new vessel"
"Galley-Ley? A ship birthing island?" Mizuko asked puzzled.
Siegfried chuckled "It doesn't..."give birth" to ships technically as an island can't do that...unless...well...never you mind" he said dismissively.
"It is an island where many talented Shipwrights reside in, it is named after their prosperous shipping company" Venedict revealed "Our shipwright Portgas was recruited from there"
Up at the crow's nest the Golden Lion Tamarin grinned from ear to ear seeing an island come up from his telescope. It had a massive rock formation in the shape of a large ship "Hah hah! Back to where it all began!" he laughed.
Dieci in the meantime made his way down to the medic bay with flowers in hand. Upon entering he noticed Siegfried talking with Mizuko while Venedict checked on her.
"Pau?"
Dieci noticed one of Venedict's shadow specters staring at him curiously and called out to him. It had a spherical body shape and wore a ragged and torn cloak with a hood. The hood was up but didn't hide his large glowing purple eyes. It also had little stubbly arms and waved at Dieci.
"Well, ello there, what are you mate?" he asked curiously.
"Pau! n.n"
"I see, you're a shadow specter, interesting" Dieci said.
"Pau Pau!"
"Keeping Mizuko entertained are ya? Well aren't you a jolly little thing you" Dieci said with a smile.
"Pau?" the spirit asked and gestured to the flowers.
"Oh, these are for Mizuko obviously"
"Pau!" the spirit waved and made his way to Venedict.
Dieci then noticed that Venedict, Siegfried and Mizuko were all looking at him oddly.
"What?" he asked.
"You can speak to my specters?"
"Yeah, I speak alot of languages" Dieci said "I brought these for Mizuko" he said holding out some flowers.
"Where did you get them from?" Siegfried asked curiously.
"A man has his ways" Dieci said and made his way to Mizuko "Here ya are, hopefully ya like em...lets see..." he reached into his coat and pulled a Vase out and placed the flowers in "There we go" :3

A love so strong and powerful that it (in theory) allowed him to hear special sound waves within the air allowing the lion to determine a person's true mood despite their facade, allowing him to hear music from the actions of others which in turned inspired him.
"Yohohohoho...." the lion laughed suddenly "I do so apologize...when seeing tender moments such as what has just taken place I can't help but become inspired to write a new song" he said . The notebook and quill vanished from view. The lion turned his chocolate brown gaze to Mizuko and gave a polite bow "My name is Siegfried Amadeus Kongou, captain of the Sonance pirates and rightful owner of the Azure tempest" he said politely "I never got a chance to introduce myself to you properly due to the situation with Captain Kassius"
"My name is Mizuko Hamano Yagami" the water dragon revealed as her bed adjusted allowing her into a sitting position.
"It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance Ms. Yagami" he said giving another bow.
"Please no, Mizuko is fine Captain" she said sheepishly.
"Very well Mizuko, but No calling me "captain" as you are a guest on my ship, Siegfried is fine" he said.
Mizuko smiled "Fair enough...so what happens now?"
"Well, the captain Kassius and his men will be dropped off at Galley-Ley, the island that births ships, to pick out their new vessel"
"Galley-Ley? A ship birthing island?" Mizuko asked puzzled.
Siegfried chuckled "It doesn't..."give birth" to ships technically as an island can't do that...unless...well...never you mind" he said dismissively.
"It is an island where many talented Shipwrights reside in, it is named after their prosperous shipping company" Venedict revealed "Our shipwright Portgas was recruited from there"
Up at the crow's nest the Golden Lion Tamarin grinned from ear to ear seeing an island come up from his telescope. It had a massive rock formation in the shape of a large ship "Hah hah! Back to where it all began!" he laughed.
Dieci in the meantime made his way down to the medic bay with flowers in hand. Upon entering he noticed Siegfried talking with Mizuko while Venedict checked on her.
"Pau?"
Dieci noticed one of Venedict's shadow specters staring at him curiously and called out to him. It had a spherical body shape and wore a ragged and torn cloak with a hood. The hood was up but didn't hide his large glowing purple eyes. It also had little stubbly arms and waved at Dieci.
"Well, ello there, what are you mate?" he asked curiously.
"Pau! n.n"
"I see, you're a shadow specter, interesting" Dieci said.
"Pau Pau!"
"Keeping Mizuko entertained are ya? Well aren't you a jolly little thing you" Dieci said with a smile.
"Pau?" the spirit asked and gestured to the flowers.
"Oh, these are for Mizuko obviously"
"Pau!" the spirit waved and made his way to Venedict.
Dieci then noticed that Venedict, Siegfried and Mizuko were all looking at him oddly.
"What?" he asked.
"You can speak to my specters?"
"Yeah, I speak alot of languages" Dieci said "I brought these for Mizuko" he said holding out some flowers.
"Where did you get them from?" Siegfried asked curiously.
"A man has his ways" Dieci said and made his way to Mizuko "Here ya are, hopefully ya like em...lets see..." he reached into his coat and pulled a Vase out and placed the flowers in "There we go" :3

Mizuko blushed as she took the vase and looked at the flowers. "They are beautiful Dieci." she murmured as she gently reached out and touched the silk petals of one of the flowers.
Her brows furrowed in confusion for a moment "These are amazing but where did you find them?" she asked as the vase was removed from her hands by Venedict and placed on a table across the room. Venedicts little shadow specter came to sit in her lap and started playing with a few strands of her long purple hair.
Turning to look over at Siegfried she smiled "Captain my I ask how long till we arrive at the Ship birthing Island? It seems like a grand place to look around. Of course only if the good Doctor see's it fit for me to leave the medic bay." she said looking to Venedict giving him big hopeful eyes.
Venedict scowled "Young lady you do realize you body has been put under a tremendous amount of stress and that you should be resting. I don't feel you are ready to go galavanting off on your own to explore with your injuries." he stated with a stern look.
Mizuko bit her lip as she tried to think of a way to at least see part of the island. The idea of seeing how ships were made seemed fascinating and anything to get outside for a bit. 'Fresh air is always the best medicine.' That what her mother told her every time Mizuko who coop herself up inside studying. "What if I didn't leave the ship? I can sit on deck for a bit right?" she asked
Venedict sighed "I want you resting.I am willing to compromise though. Take a nap if in a few hours you feel up to going on deck then you may do so. That is the best i will give you in the condition you are in right now." He stated sternly "Chao these days what is this planet coming to I never had issues like this on Yami." he grumbled as he made himself busy on the other side of the medic bay

Siegfried turned to the flowers 'We're not near land, how did he-'
"CAPTAIN!"
There was a loud bang that caused the ship to tremble. Siegfried immediately made his way up to the deck. The shadow specter in Mizuko's lap seem to panic and vanished in a puff of black smoke.
Dieci managed to keep his balance as the ship shook and looked worried "Right then, loks like I'll be visiting later then" he said before making his way up to the deck as well. Upon arriving he saw a sea monster gazing down at the crew. It's long serpent tail had wrapped around the ship keeping it in place. It roared out and the crew looked ready to retaliate.
"WAIT!" Dieci yelled and the serpent turned towards him.
Siegfried and the rest of the crew watched as Dieci walked towards it "It's alright..." he said.
"Dieci, what are you doing?" Siegfried asked.
"It's okay captain, everyone, please...it just wants to talk"
"Talk!? This is a sea serpent we're talking about! An abomination created by that bastard Poseidon who-" Kishigure began.
The serpent roared at Kishigure who reached for her sword.
"Wait, stop please!" Dieci begged "I assure you, whatever sea monsters you have slain...this one is different...they all are" he said as several creatures rose around the waters around them. All of them of varying sizes and shapes. Each of them strong enough to give the crew a run for their money yet didn't attack.
"Dieci, you can communicate with the sea kings as well?" Siegfried asked.
"Yes, as I mentioned before, I can speak multiple languages" he said to Siegfried and gazed at the serpent who hissed at some of the crew. Dieci then did a double take "As well?" he asked looking stunned.
-Medic bay-
Venedict waved his hands in front of a large crystal near Mizuko's bed and a visual of the deck appeared. It allowed them to see what was happening while still within the confines of the medical bay.
-The deck-
"Everyone, stand down" Siegfried commanded while Dieci walked to the bow, standing directly in sight of the main serpent that had the ship in place.
The serpent hissed at Dieci ' Another small one who speaks our language? what is your identity? I desire to speak with the captain of Chao kind'a voice that suddenly echoed within all of their minds asked.
"The name I go by is Dieci" he said to the serpent "But my true identity has no name" he announced to the serpent.
'It matters not' the voice said and it was then that most of the crew realized that it was the serpent's voice 'Can you help us?'
"Help you? What seems to be the problem? Why would sea kings ask helps of Chao?" Dieci asked.
'It is one of your kind that is the issue!' the serpent hissed 'The one who uses dark magic on our race to further his own needs, the one who enslaves us and uses us as mere play things!'
"Poseidon?" Siegfried asked.
The serpent growled and turned to Siegfried who walked up to Dieci and now stood next to him 'That abomination who dares to use our king's name...yes, the very one'
"He is in prison, his magic sealed away" Siegfried stated.
'His magic may be sealed, but his influence over our king has not dwindled over the years'
"The Deadelus is your king?" Siegfried asked stunned.
'That is the name your kind gave him, our kind know him as his majesty Poseidon, our king' the serpent said 'we do not know where he is, the dark one's magic has hidden him from us, his mind has been ravaged and destroyed, he is no longer the king we once knew' the pain in the serpent's voice could be felt 'Our enemy is a common one Chao kind, this is why we have come to you, with each passing second more of our kind are influenced by his power or slain'
"I'm sorry, I am truly sorry" Dieci said solemnly.
'Your words are kind but uneeded, we are aware of what must be done but requiere your assistance in doing it'
"You wish to kill him" Siegfried said.
'We believe that if we slay our king...his link over the others will be destroyed and the dark one will have no power to enslave us' The serpent said.
"If that happens then the sea monster attacks on our villages should stop...but there have been recorded attacks before he began to influence your king-" Siegfried began.
'We of serpent kind made a pact long ago with your queen, captain of chao kind, that we would cause no harm to your people. Yet your kind have broken your side of the pact for years, hunting our kind for sport'. Did you expect us to stay back and watch our brethren be slain? the serpent said bluntly to Siegfried.
Siegfried remained silent at these words.
'Will you help us?'
"Yes, if it means that our pact from long ago can be reforged" Siegfried stated.
'Then, it shall be' the serpent said and released Siegfried's ship. The other serpents sank beneath the ocean's surface and vanished.
"You can speak to sea serpents?" Dieci asked Siegfried.
"Yes, a gift from my mother" he stated.
"Captain Kongou, are we still en route for Gally Ley?" Kassius asked.
"Yes, your battle is not with out enemy" Siegfried stated to the wolf chao.
"CAPTAIN!"

Mizuko watched as the images in the crystal faded away "The serpents.... They went away." she said in awe turning to Venedict. "The Captain and Dieci they can speak to the sea monsters?" she questioned to Venedict.
"Yes. Captain Siegfried received that gift from his mother." he stated as he returned to his regular duties. "He may have the gift of communication with the creatures but they are still wild and untamable beasts. Not all sea beings are willing to be communicated with. Some are out to destroy." he said calmly as he started to work on some paperwork.
Mizuko nodded "I understand but that is quiet the amazing gift." she said softly "Everyone here seems to have such a talent." she said watching him.
"We all do seem to have fine talents and skills. We have all worked hard to become great at the things we love and Captain Siegfried has a talent at finding those of us who have great talents. He has managed to collect quiet a crew of talented Chao who work like a well oiled machine. Each of us has a duty and we all work well with each other." he said fondly " A few of us are not even water chao. Take me for instance I am a Dark Chao from Yami, I started working with Seigfrieds father another chao with a talent for finding the talented, I've been here on Aquatica for 20 years and have never looked back." he said with a grin
"I wish I had as much of a passion for what I'm good at as you all do." she said with a small grin
"My dear you are still young I didn't find my talent for many years. When I became an apprentice in medicine there was a boy half my age competing with me under our master. Some of us know what we want from the beginning others we need to try a few things before we get there. But I feel we are better for it because then we become well rounded." Venedict said encouragingly. "Now no more questions for today if you want to go on deck when we arrive at Gally Ley you need to sleep now." he stated as he walked over and lightly touched her head "Now Sleep."

-A few Hours later-
The Azure tempest had made it to the shipwright island without any further incident. Mizuko was sleeping peacefully, due to her draconian lineage the sleep spell wouldn't last too long on her. Taking advantage of this time, Kassius and his crew set out with Siegfried and Portgas to the city center where the shipwright company was.
Dieci remained in the medic bay with Mizuko while Venedict signed some papers. The small specter from before stared at Mizuko curiously and poked her a few times. It floated over to Dieci and nuzzled his face causing the male to pet it lightly.
Mizuko groaned lightly and opened her eyes. The specter, named by Dieci as Kuroi, floated over to her and cheered. She giggled and lightly stroked its head "Hey there"
"Mizu, you're awake!" Dieci said cheerfully. The bed rose up allowing her to move to a sitting position. The door to the medic bay suddenly opened, a red blur moved in quickly and just as quick made it's way out. When Mizuko blinked several times there was a small tabled set up on her lap with a huge plate of breakfast consisting of eggs, sausages, bacon, pancakes with syrup and butter and a glass of orange juice.
"I've often told Jaques not to run in here like that" Venedict mumbled.
"The cook?" Dieci asked.
"Indeed, he is the fastest crew mate we have and our top chef"
"Dieci, what is Galley-Ley exactly? I know it's an island known for it's shipwrights and what not but what else?" Mizuko asked as she started to eat.
In the meantime, Siegfried, Portgas, Kassius and his men made their way to the company. There waiting for them was a polar bear chao with blue hair, wearing a orange and blue pin strip suit. Standing next to him was a female crane chao wearing glasses, a skirt and long sleeve blouse holding a clipboard.
""Galley-Ley, originally the island itself has seven competing shipwright companies...until one man merged them into a single company..."
"Now sir, do recall you have a meeting at the Chiza Hotel, followed by a speech and a grand opening of a mall afterwards"
"I don't want to" the male said plainly.
"Very well, it's all been canceled sir"
"...His passion for making ships and techniques in crafting brought those rival companies together, his name is Iceberg, he is also the mayor of the town"
"Icerbeg"
"Captain Kongou, pleased to see you again" the bear said with a laugh.
